OVERVIEW: The Electrical Service Manager position is a working management position responsible for the safe, efficient, and code compliant electrical service and production of all company supported products and equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Electrical Responsibilities:
- Provide design and plan work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical theories and principles, written specifications. Ensure that design/service work meets all state, local, and national electrical codes as well as OSHA and MSHA requirements.
- Ensures all assemblies have appropriate and correct CAD drawings.
- Advises operators and line mechanics of operation procedures and requirements for working safely with electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment and components.
- Assist field technicians, electricians, and customer personnel designated as competent with field troubleshooting and repairs.
- Work with parts department to maintain cost effective inventory stock levels based on supplier lead times.
- Negotiate best price for inventory suppliers while maintaining use of quality components.
- Review electrical service quotes as prepared by Electrical Department Foreman.
- Fabrication Responsibilities:
- Provide direction on power van, control van, and operator control module fabrication and electrical installation duties by utilizing in house personnel as well using sub-contractors when necessary.
- Provide direction and leadership for the assembly of company produced engine generator assemblies.
- Work closely with the parts department for outsourcing of required fabricated parts.
- Administrative Responsibilities:
- Assist Electrical Department Foreman with service quotes and work order scheduling as needed.
- Provide support to Sales and PSSR personnel in respect to quoting and designing electrical products per customer request.
- Review service orders to ensure parts and labor are correct and appropriate text and meter readings are entered.
- Submit service orders for closure in respect to company defined timeline.
- Review and approval of labor to correct service orders.
- Prepare and deliver employee reviews at company determined intervals.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

- Educational background must include a high school diploma.
- Must have proven knowledge of the principles of electricity and electrical design.
- Thorough understanding of LOTO and Arc Flash/Arc Blast safety.
- Minnesota State Class “A” Master Electrical License.
- 3-5 years of proven experience in the electrical/electronics, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic fields are required and the ability to demonstrate high proficiency in these areas.
- Requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain an insurable driving record.
- Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing/service environment.
- A thorough knowledge of electrical/ electronic components and equipment including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes.
- Must be able to work well with all levels of personnel whether individually or in a team environment, and especially must be able to interface and communicate with line operators in order to assist with repairs and troubleshooting.
- Willing to work any shift and overtime, as required, to include travel as there may be overnight field service work from time to time.
- Must have a high degree of precision.
