Essential Functions:
- Preparing driver schedules, approving time off requests, discipline, and attendance issues
- Daily dispatch of drivers and assigning all equipment needed for the day
- Route recommendations for maximum efficiencies
- Directly supervise drivers and yard spotters on all facets of compliance with DOT and safe driving compliance.
- Hands on management such as ride-a longs for coaching and training as needed. Safety of our fleet, drivers, and the public.
- Communicate service issues to sales, customer service, and Operations team
- Works closely with Dispatch personnel and Director of transportation to provide best-in-class delivery expectations.
- Coordinates with Operations to ensure customer and driver needs are met.
- Participate in the hiring of Drivers: interviews, road tests, paperwork.
- Participate in Safety investigations, review and reporting with root-cause analysis.
- Review performance and service levels with customers on delivery experience.
- Good understanding of samsara software system and ability to navigate, through samsara.
- Have a good working understanding of the CBA, (collective bargaining agreement)
Competencies, Education, and Skills:
- Previous experience in Transportation or Warehousing experience in a refrigerated food manufacturing or distributor operation preferred
- A minimum of a high school or GED or an associate’s degree in related field preferred
- At least 2 years of experience in transportation with at least 1 year of experience in a supervisory capacity
- Knowledge of driver safety and DOT compliance requirements.
- Proficient skills in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), and common E Mail systems
- Class CDL A or B is a plus
- Must be able to read, speak, and write English satisfactorily, bilingual a plus

Physical Demands:
- Stand or sit for long periods of time

Compensation:
- $75,000 - $85,000/Year
Work Schedule:
- Monday - Saturday (Off on Sundays and one day during the week)
- Must be available to work on holidays
- Start time: 7:00am – 9:00am
