Position Overview

We seek a dynamic professional to drive our community partnerships, outreach and educational programs. The ideal candidate will have experience with event planning, community outreach and education, particularly in K-12 settings. This role offers a hybrid work environment with in person work days 1-2 days per week for candidates based in the Santa Barbara / Ventura / L.A. County region.

Key Responsibilities

Community Outreach :

Build and manage community partnerships
Oversee wholesale relationships with grocers and institutions
Analyze customer demographics and feedback through surveys
Design cross-promotional campaigns
Plan community seafood dinners and other events in Santa Barbara and L.A.
Represent Get Hooked at community events in Santa Barbara and L.A.

Educational Programs :

Help gather and refine educational content about seafood, fisheries and community events

Help develop educational materials for our Sea to School program

Make classroom visits to do seafood tastings and lessons

Create seafood preparation guides for school food service staff

Coordinate with educational partners and school kitchen teams in Ventura County

Contribute to educational video content development

Project Management :

Coordinate team meetings and communication

Generate quarterly progress reports

Manage multiple concurrent projects independently

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree

3 years work experience

Strong proficiency with Google Workspace (Drive, Sheets, Docs, Slides)

Experience with CRM systems, graphic design (e.g. Canva) and customer survey design and analysis

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Demonstrated project management abilities

Knowledge of digital marketing tools and AI applications

Desired Qualities

Passion for oceans and food system sustainability

Experience in K-12 educational settings

Independent decision-making skills

Empathetic communication style

Spanish language skills preferred
