We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Adjunct Graphic Design Instructor to join our academic team in a remote capacity. In this pivotal role, you will contribute significantly to the educational development of our students in visual communication, design principles, and relevant design software.
Key Responsibilities
- Instruct 5 courses (15 credit hours) each semester through both online and in-person formats.
- Engage actively in the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) program within the esteemed School of Arts and Humanities.
- Partake in innovative research projects related to graphic design.
- Provide academic advisement and mentorship to students, fostering their personal and professional growth.
- Contribute service to the School of Arts and Humanities and the larger college community.
- Maintain office hours for academic support and student interaction.
- Ensure that students achieve the designated learning outcomes across all courses.
- Offer additional assistance to students requiring extra academic support.
- Uphold professionalism and cultivate a positive learning environment.
- Exhibit technical proficiency in operating studio equipment, including App/PC computers, scanners, printers (including 3D scanners and printers), and other digital devices.
- Execute additional tasks as delegated by the Dean.
- Proficient in design and web design tools, particularly the Adobe Creative Suite.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with students, faculty, and the broader community.
- Strong ability to demonstrate design techniques and collaborate with students to refine their skills.
- A passionate commitment to fostering a supportive and student-centric educational atmosphere.
- Comprehensive understanding of educational principles, instructional methods, and assessment techniques within higher education, including the integration of technology in classroom and lab environments.
- A Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Visual Arts or a related discipline is the minimum requirement.
- A terminal degree (MFA in Graphic Design or equivalent) from an accredited institution is preferred.
- Demonstrated exemplary professional experience in graphic design and a history of excellence in undergraduate teaching is highly desirable.
