Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Teacher in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate lessons and engaging activities.
- Utilize the Responsive Classroom model to facilitate morning meetings and guide children's interactions with their peers and adults.
- Create and maintain a supportive classroom environment that fosters positive interactions and encourages learning.
- Monitor and assess student progress through hands-on assessments, reflecting on outcomes to enhance instructional strategies.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators through effective communication.
- Collaborate with the Lead Teacher and staff to enhance the overall educational experience and support student success.
- Supervise students during various activities, including outdoor play, Related Arts classes, and lunch periods.
- Step into the role of Lead Teacher in their absence, up to three days, ensuring continuity of education.
- Engage with parents and the community through digital platforms, providing updates on students' work and classroom experiences.
- Participate in school traditions and events such as Parents’ Night, Open House, and Parent/Teacher Conferences.
- Attend professional development and training programs aimed at personal and professional growth, including CPR and first aid training.
- Uphold the school's commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and multicultural education.
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field is required.
- Preferred experience of at least three years working with young children in educational settings.
- Familiarity with leading small groups or classroom settings is advantageous.
- Basic technological proficiency, including knowledge of iPad/iPhone apps, Google Suite, and photo editing tools, is preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication abilities, with the capacity to lead effectively in a classroom setting.
