Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to organize and deliver educational programs tailored to the developmental needs of Lower School students.
- Engage students using the Responsive Classroom model and guide their positive interactions with peers and adults.
- Foster a nurturing and supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages interactive learning and authentic assessments.
- Maintain ongoing communication with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators to ensure a cohesive educational experience.
- Utilize the online platform ‘Seesaw’ for sharing classroom activities with parents.
- Participate in school functions and uphold the school's traditions as directed by the Early Childhood/Lower School Division Head.
- Embrace opportunities for professional development and continuous learning.
- Supervise students during various activities, including lunch and recess, and fulfill carpool supervision duties.
- Execute necessary record-keeping, including attendance and special permission forms.
- Support the school's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through active participation in programs and initiatives.
- A genuine enthusiasm for working with young children and insight into their developmental needs.
- Strong leadership capabilities within a classroom setting, adaptable to group, small group, and individual learning contexts.
- Energy, empathy, flexibility, and a spirit of collaboration.
- Proficiency in basic technology, including familiarity with iPad and iPhone apps, Google Suite, and email.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain mobile throughout the day.
- A Bachelor's degree is required.
- A minimum of three years of experience working with young children is preferred.
