Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Teacher in organizing and delivering educational programs that are developmentally appropriate.
- Aid in the planning and implementation of curriculum and tailored instruction for Lower School students.
- Foster student engagement through the Responsive Classroom model, facilitating morning meetings and guiding interactions among children, adults, and their surroundings.
- Create and sustain a supportive classroom environment that encourages positive interactions and effective learning.
- Oversee instructional delivery and authentic assessment while supervising children in the classroom.
- Collaborate actively to foster an enriching educational environment, maintaining professionalism and ethical conduct.
- Participate in a week of preparatory meetings before the school year and contribute to end-of-year responsibilities post-graduation.
- Maintain open communication with students, parents, colleagues, and administration.
- Use the online platform “Seesaw” to share classroom updates and activities with parents.
- Engage in school functions and traditions as designated by leadership, recognizing that some duties may extend beyond standard hours.
- Passion for working with young children and understanding their developmental needs.
- Strong classroom leadership abilities, facilitating learning in various group settings.
- Demonstrated energy, empathy, flexibility, and a capacity to collaborate effectively.
- Proficiency in basic technology, including apps for iPad/iPhone, Google Suite, and communication tools.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds and navigate the campus throughout the day.
- A bachelor's degree is required.
- Preference for candidates with three years of experience working with young children.
