In this pivotal role, you will manage a vibrant team of ESL educators and play a key role in overseeing both residential and administrative operations to ensure a seamless camp experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and enhance the existing ESL curriculum to better serve our diverse student body.
- Develop and design innovative course materials for forthcoming programs.
- Administer and assess student placement evaluations to appropriately classify students based on language proficiency, age, nationality, and other relevant criteria.
- Update and refine the Operations Manual for ESL instructors, ensuring clarity and comprehensiveness.
- Organize teacher documentation, including rosters, work records, and evaluation forms, for efficient management.
- Provide initial training for academic staff on their roles, responsibilities, and expectations.
- Create weekly teaching schedules that align with the strengths and preferences of our educators.
- Distribute class assignments, materials, and teaching supplies to all staff members.
- Support educators in lesson planning and the utilization of classroom resources.
- Offer assistance with classroom technology and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
- Monitor teacher attendance and address concerns to uphold staff discipline and program integrity.
- Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to ensure high educational standards.
- Ensure student safety, welfare, and discipline during instructional time and throughout the program.
- Instructors may occasionally need to cover classes in response to staff absences or challenges.
- Lead and mentor a team of teachers, fostering an environment of excellence in educational delivery.
- Conduct brief daily meetings with faculty to discuss updates and address any concerns.
- Facilitate weekly professional development sessions to promote team growth and collaboration.
- Evaluate teacher performance regularly and report findings to the center director.
- Cultivate a positive and motivating environment by recognizing and supporting team efforts.
- Oversee and assist administrative staff with academic-related tasks.
- Maintain student well-being and discipline, ensuring safety at all times.
- Supervise students during meals, activities, and free time when on duty.
- Monitor academic progress and provide additional guidance or counseling as necessary.
- Ensure the effective delivery of the academic curriculum while upholding high educational standards.
- Gather and incorporate feedback from teachers, students, and chaperones to enhance the program continuously.
- Address concerns or complaints from students, teachers, or chaperones regarding academic issues.
- Assist with logistics related to student arrivals and departures, including orientations and campus tours.
- Safeguard teaching materials and ensure their return post-program.
- Document and report on student progress, including final evaluations and certificates.
- Manage emergencies and supervise students in residential settings, ensuring their discipline and well-being.
