Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate the delivery of online coursework at the advanced undergraduate and graduate levels for a grant-funded certificate program in extractive engineering disciplines.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, instructional designers, and project team members to develop and adapt technical content for the program.
- Engage with a multidisciplinary team to create a comprehensive curriculum.
- Implement national best practices for online asynchronous education, ensuring meaningful interaction for students.
- Conduct initial quality assessments of the curriculum to confirm alignment with university standards and federal regulations for online education.
- Exceptional oral and written communication abilities within technical domains.
- Strong collaborative skills with the ability to work effectively alongside subject matter experts and instructional designers.
- Familiarity with national best practices for online asynchronous education.
- Master's degree in a relevant STEM discipline (such as mining, geological, metallurgical, materials, environmental, or a related field).
- A Ph.D. in a relevant STEM discipline is preferred.
- Experience in higher education settings as a lecturer, instructor, or graduate teaching assistant is advantageous.
- Previous teaching experience in STEM courses at a university or industrial level is preferred.
- Familiarity with online course delivery methods is desirable.
