Key Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored lessons in Social Studies for grades 1-8 and History for grades 9-12, encompassing US History and World History.
- Evaluate students’ academic levels and design customized lesson plans that cater to individual learning needs.
- Provide support with homework, exam preparation, and reinforcement of classroom concepts.
- Foster an engaging and productive learning environment that motivates students to excel.
- Maintain open lines of communication with students’ families and collaborate with our team to ensure consistent progress.
- Travel to agreed-upon locations for in-person sessions, as necessary, while also utilizing online platforms for virtual instruction.
- Strong ability to assess students’ needs and adapt teaching methodologies accordingly.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with families and team members.
- Experience in lesson planning for both in-person and remote settings.
- Proficient in keeping students engaged and on task while promoting a positive learning atmosphere.
- Valid New Jersey Standard Teaching Certification or New Jersey Special Education Certification is required (active or retired educators are welcome to apply).
- Previous tutoring experience is preferred but not mandatory. Experience in developing lessons for various teaching environments is a plus.
