Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute daily lesson plans that adhere to Pennsylvania Early Standards, ensuring developmental appropriateness and alignment with curriculum goals.
- Cultivate an enriching classroom atmosphere that promotes independence, creativity, and respect, while facilitating experiential learning opportunities.
- Provide individualized, developmentally informed instruction to assist children in building essential skills for lifelong success.
- Document and monitor student development to establish appropriate goals and track progression.
- Engage children in both individual and group activities, enhancing their listening and spoken language capabilities.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including speech-language pathologists and educational audiologists, to effectively support each child’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP) objectives.
- Maintain open and consistent communication with families to discuss students’ goals, progress, and activities.
- Prepare trimester progress reports and actively contribute to IEP and progress meetings.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field (e.g., Communication Science Disorders).
- Valid Pennsylvania Teacher Certificate or eligibility to obtain one.
- Pennsylvania state credentials and clearances, including Child Abuse, FBI, and Criminal Background Checks.
- Experience in early childhood education is essential.
- Familiarity with assistive listening devices, such as hearing aids and cochlear implants, is advantageous but not required.
