Key Responsibilities
- Deliver real-time sign language interpretation for classroom activities and lessons, facilitating clear communication between students and educators.
- Serve as a communication bridge, encouraging student engagement and participation in the learning process.
- Collaborate closely with a paraprofessional to provide tailored support that addresses each student’s unique needs.
- Uphold confidentiality and maintain ethical standards in all interpreting duties, fostering trust and respect within the educational community.
- Contribute to a welcoming, accessible, and inclusive learning atmosphere for all students, enhancing their academic and social experiences.
- Exceptional communication abilities and a strong capacity for teamwork in a remote environment.
- Proficiency in sign language interpretation with a focus on classroom dynamics.
- EIPA Performance Score: A minimum of 3.0 is required.
- EIPA Written Test: Successful completion of the written assessment is essential.
- Active Alabama SLI License: A current and valid license is mandatory (interpreting without a license is prohibited in Alabama).
- Experience: Prior experience in classroom interpreting, especially with young children, is preferred.

Compensation
- Hourly Rate: \(35 - \)40 per hour, commensurate with experience.
