Remote Substitute Teacher for Adult Education

Job Overview

We are looking for enthusiastic and committed Substitute Teachers to deliver high school-level instruction to adult learners (18 ) in the absence of full-time teachers. This role provides a unique opportunity to engage students across various subjects through both remote and in-person instructional methods. As a Substitute Teacher, you will play a crucial role in guiding students through their academic journeys, promoting a supportive and inclusive learning atmosphere, and facilitating their educational advancement.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans for a diverse group of students in a self-contained classroom.
• Evaluate and assess adult learners’ academic progress through both online and face-to-face interactions.
• Maintain comprehensive student records, including grades and performance evaluations.
• Collaborate with the school counselor to assist students in achieving their academic and career aspirations.
• Foster a positive and productive classroom environment that encourages student engagement.
• Deliver inclusive online classes that are sensitive to the cultural backgrounds of students.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance educational experiences and contribute to innovative teaching methodologies.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field is mandatory.
• A 30-Day substitute permit or a multiple subject/single subject teaching credential is required.
• Experience in teaching within diverse, rural, or agricultural communities is advantageous but not essential.
• Proficiency in remote teaching platforms (such as Canvas) and adaptability to new technologies are critical.
• Strong classroom management skills with a demonstrated ability to create a conducive learning environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with students and peers.
• Competency in utilizing various computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.
