Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute an age-appropriate curriculum that aligns with Developmentally Appropriate Practices and Vermont Early Learning Standards.
- Develop engaging activities that cater to the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth of children.
- Maintain consistent and open communication with families through various channels.
- Ensure compliance with state regulations and organizational policies.
- Create and sustain a nurturing, inclusive, and secure classroom environment.
- Accurately document observations, curriculum plans, and assessments within designated timelines.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and uphold high-quality educational standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, children, and parents.
- In-depth understanding of child development principles.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certification.
- Background Check and Fingerprinting Clearance.
- Completion of Mandated Reporter Training and Vermont Orientation Training.
To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the Vermont State Regulations for a Teacher Associate:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum age of 20 years.
- Relevant educational and experiential background as specified:
- Vermont Early Childhood Career Ladder Level Three (3) Certificate.
- Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related fields with at least 12 months of experience working with children age three and under.
- Completion of the Registered Child Care Apprenticeship Program.
- Child Care Certificate from the Community College of Vermont with relevant experience.
- 21 college credits focused on early childhood or school-age education with the required experience.
