Job Overview

The Branch Operations Manager is integral to the leadership and coordination of branch activities, ensuring seamless operations. This role requires collaboration with multiple internal departments, including operations, billing, administration, maintenance, and sales, to deliver a cohesive and efficient workflow. A key focus will be on providing outstanding customer service, managing inventory effectively, overseeing trailer repositioning and maintenance, facilitating procurement processes, and handling registration and warranty matters. The manager will also ensure the accuracy and timeliness of mileage billing and rebilling for trailer damages, working closely with the Director of Operations and other senior executives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer service to uphold and enhance the company's reputation.
  • Serve as the primary contact for customer issues relating to equipment, quality, and service.
  • Assess inventory usage and ensure accurate data management to optimize rental costs.
  • Contribute to equipment procurement strategies both in the short and long term.
  • Make informed decisions regarding daily business operations.
  • Maintain regular interaction with service and repair vendors for accurate billing of customer damages.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to ensure all necessary documentation accompanies invoices.
  • Monitor and manage open service orders effectively.
  • Oversee inspections of inbound and outbound equipment, ensuring timely and accurate damage assessment.
  • Manage vendor compliance with policies and industry standards.
  • Promote a safe and productive work environment by conducting regular safety meetings.
  • Develop and maintain a skilled team through clear communication of responsibilities and performance expectations.

Required Skills

  • Strong leadership capabilities, including budget management and deadline adherence.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, with negotiation abilities considered a plus.
  • Proficiency in multitasking and handling a high volume of work efficiently.
  • Technical expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience operating a switcher/yard jockey is advantageous, though not essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years in a management role; experience in semi-trailer maintenance, leasing, or fleet management is preferred and may substitute for a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing teams effectively is highly valued.
  • Relevant Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
