Key Responsibilities
- Conduct classroom observations to evaluate teaching quality and identify best practices.
- Analyze educational data and assess children’s development to support school readiness objectives.
- Collaborate with educational staff to identify strengths and areas that require improvement, devising tailored coaching plans accordingly.
- Develop and execute individualized coaching strategies that include specific goals and actionable methods.
- Offer constructive feedback and comprehensive coaching reports to teachers, site directors, and supervisors.
- Employ diverse coaching methodologies including modeling, co-teaching, and side-by-side teaching to enhance instructional practices.
- Aid in the implementation of curriculum and instructional strategies such as MyTeachingStrategies.
- Gather and interpret program data to continually refine coaching approaches and professional development efforts.
- Maintain accurate records of coaching outcomes and observations within the data management system.
- Plan and facilitate training sessions that align with performance expectations and effective practices.
- Assist program staff with data entry across multiple platforms including COPA, IWAS, and MyTeachingStrategies.
- Engage in team meetings, committees, and collaborative initiatives aimed at elevating educational quality.
- Maintain consistent communication with education managers, site directors, and teaching staff.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as necessary to fulfill program goals and compliance mandates.
- Strong coaching and mentoring abilities to facilitate professional growth.
- Comprehensive understanding of Head Start Performance Standards, Illinois Early Learning Standards, and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Proficient in analyzing data to provide informed insights and recommendations for enhancement.
- Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable transportation with valid insurance, with some travel required.
- Capability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Flexibility to attend occasional evening and weekend meetings.
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from a regionally accredited institution.
- 3-5 years of experience as an early childhood teacher, trainer, or coach (experience with infants and toddlers preferred).
- Successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
