We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Memory Care Director to lead and elevate the memory care program within our esteemed retirement community. This pivotal role involves the planning, coordination, and provision of exceptional care services in our Memory Care neighborhood.
Key Responsibilities
- Train, mentor, and orient Care Partners and Medication Technicians, ensuring adherence to community culture and care standards.
- Assist in the recruitment, management, and scheduling of care staff, maintaining exemplary service standards.
- Oversee the medication administration program in collaboration with the Health and Wellness Director.
- Conduct assessments and reassessments of residents to ensure compliance with established policies.
- Act as the main point of contact for non-clinical concerns related to resident care within the Memory Care neighborhood.
- Ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality services to enhance resident satisfaction.
- Maintain precise resident records and ensure up-to-date documentation.
- Collaborate with the Lifestyles team to implement engaging programming and activities tailored to resident needs.
- Support residents exhibiting distressed behaviors through validation techniques and timely interventions.
- Provide emotional support and educational resources to families navigating dementia care.
- Stay updated on community care regulations and state-specific requirements.
- Assist residents with daily living activities as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with departmental policies and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong time management capabilities.
- Outstanding communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to inspire and support a team.
- Proficiency in computer systems, specifically Excel and Word, with a willingness to learn new technologies.
- High school diploma is required; a degree in gerontology, nursing, social work, or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in dementia care is required; 3-5 years of experience in assisted living and memory care is preferred.
- CDP certification is preferred, or equivalent experience and formal dementia training.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and to be on-call as required.
