As the Director of Clinical Operations, you will be instrumental in managing clinical services within the hospice care environment. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of patient services delivered by clinical personnel.
- Provide mentorship and support to coordinators and Clinical Supervisors to elevate the quality of hospice care.
- Assist Clinical Supervisors with team management and care planning.
- Act in the capacity of Executive Director/Administrator when required, exercising full decision-making authority.
- Support clinical teams in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for patients and their families.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director/Administrator in budget preparation and oversight.
- Monitor operational metrics to detect variations in patient volume, affecting staffing, revenue, or expenses.
- Evaluate the performance of Clinical Supervisors and facilitate their development in clinician evaluation skills.
- Supervise the recruitment, assessment, and, if necessary, dismissal of clinical staff.
- Ensure the maintenance of precise and compliant patient clinical documentation.
- Manage inventory to guarantee sufficient supplies and equipment for service delivery.
- Develop and execute orientation programs for new hires, ensuring seamless integration into the team.
- Plan and implement in-service training and continuing education initiatives to fulfill staff training needs.
- Engage in assessing organizational performance through improvement programs and productivity evaluations.
- Ensure the safe and high-quality provision of hospice services.
- Contribute to the establishment of organizational objectives and the formation of operational policies and procedures.
- Stay abreast of developments in nursing and hospice care, sharing relevant insights with the team.
- Cultivate relationships within the healthcare sector to enhance hospice referrals.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Florida.
- Proficient leadership abilities to effectively oversee both clinical and administrative teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong understanding of business management, regulatory requirements, and industry standards (such as CHAP).
- A Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution (preferred).
- At least three years of management experience (preferred).
- Previous experience in hospice or a related healthcare organization is advantageous.
