We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Merchandising Manager to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal position, you will support the Chief Merchandising Officer (CMO) in the strategic management and execution of compelling merchandising initiatives from conception to realization.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the CMO on all facets of product development, design, and marketing for our Albany Stationery and Accessory product lines.
- Assist in the selection of innovative fabrics for market introductions and special projects, ensuring our offerings are distinctive.
- Engage with the Product Development Team to generate creative ideas and designs for each market launch.
- Conduct research on current color palettes and fabric trends through retail excursions in both furniture and non-furniture sectors.
- Attend the Interwoven Fabric Shows in High Point, NC, to gain inspiration and insights.
- Participate in the High Point Market each April and October, where you will initiate new projects and interact with key clients.
- Collaborate with fabric mills to cultivate new project ideas, designs, and color schemes that resonate with our clientele.
- Assist in the organization of showroom layouts, marketing materials, and room scene photography in conjunction with external studios.
- Create fabric-to-frame combinations that align with critical price points while fulfilling both style and margin objectives.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to guide a team through task and project completion.
- Proven Experience: Demonstrated success in merchandising roles.
- Creativity: Strong background in identifying target audiences and crafting engaging campaigns.
- Trends Awareness: Knowledgeable about the latest merchandising trends and best practices.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, along with strong listening and presentation skills.
- Commercial Acumen: Ability to understand and interpret customer needs effectively.
- A Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Fashion Merchandising is preferred.
- Relevant coursework may include Textiles, Global Textiles & Apparel, Marketing Principles, Retail Marketing, Consumer/Market Behavior, Advertising, Retailing, and Strategic Merchandising Issues.
