We are on the lookout for a highly skilled and results-oriented Chief Operating Officer (COO) to partner closely with the owner in steering and refining the administrative and business operations of an ambitious professional services firm. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience, preferably in roles such as VP of Operations, COO, or Professional Legal Administrator (PLA), and demonstrate a proven track record in managing daily operations, implementing systems, and driving organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities
As COO, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic framework and ensuring the effective execution of business operations. Your key responsibilities will include :
- Directing the implementation of the firm’s business plan with an emphasis on reaching quarterly revenue and profitability targets.
- Collaborating with the owner to craft and execute business strategies and operational procedures.
- Analyzing performance metrics to inform strategic business decisions.
- Supervising non-lawyer support staff and managing relationships with third-party vendors.
- Overseeing recruitment, hiring processes, onboarding, and performance evaluation, including payroll and benefits management.
- Ensuring business policies and procedures are documented, consistently organized, and audited for compliance.
- Managing financial operations, including budgeting, financial analysis, and accounting practices.
- Leading a remote team using best practices in communication and productivity.
- Ensuring seamless operation of all digital systems accessible to the team.
- Conducting regular risk assessments to identify and address potential business risks.
- Managing projects through strategic planning and team collaboration to achieve scheduled timelines.
