Job Summary
The Texas Association of Community Health Centers (TACHC) is a private, not-for-profit membership association committed to advancing access to quality healthcare in Texas by supporting and advocating for community health centers. The COO will execute all internal operations and oversee internal facing teams to drive results towards TACHC’s mission and strategic objectives. This position will report directly to the CEO. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leadership, strategic thinking, and process optimization in a membership-based organization. Because environmental and organizational conditions change rapidly, the work involves innovation and creativity in generating ideas for quick response. Decision-making in this position is focused on implementing practical, timely solutions and a leadership style that is firm and goal oriented, and yet motivates, trains, and engages others in an enthusiastic way. The scope of the job will require effective delegation to direct reports, ability to act independently, drive results, and handle a variety of challenges.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of key internal facing employees and departments to develop and execute operational strategies across each function.
- Work collaboratively as part of the Executive Leadership Team and identify potential strategic growth opportunities.
- Ensure cross-departmental alignment and continuity in TACHC’s programs, services, training and technical assistance.
- Provide staff a strong day-to-day presence of leadership and foster the culture of teamwork and continuous improvement among all staff.
- Develop and enhance key partnerships and funding opportunities to support TACHC operations and address member center needs.
Credentials and Experience
Required
- Graduate degree in a relevant field including but not limited to finance or accounting.
- 10 years of progressively responsible experience in operations management or program management.
- Strong and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Preferred
- Experience and knowledge of health care and health care systems, preferred.
- Non-profit and/or strong membership association experience.
- 7 years of managerial experience.
- Fundraising and grants management experience.
