Key Responsibilities
- Provide medical consultations for active patients, including on-call support for admissions and medical inquiries.
- Assist admissions personnel in assessing referral appropriateness.
- Conduct physical examinations within 24 hours of patient admission.
- Hold clinic appointments 2-3 days weekly to address urgent and chronic medical issues.
- Triage medical concerns and ensure proper follow-up care.
- Coordinate with external healthcare providers as required.
- Thoroughly document medical evaluations and follow-ups in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) promptly.
- Prescribe necessary medical and MAT medications, ensuring continuity or initiation as needed.
- Communicate any patient medical status updates and medication modifications to relevant staff.
- Stay informed on abnormal medication events and guide staff on follow-up actions.
- Consult on medical protocols and workflows with pharmacy staff.
- Oversee emergency medication stations and review existing medical policies and procedures.
- Provide training on medical and MAT-related subjects to staff occasionally.
- Participate in critical incident reviews and other tasks as assigned by the Chief Medical Officer.
- Extensive knowledge of general medicine, urgent care, and evidence-based MAT practices.
- Compassionate approach to caring for adolescents with substance use disorders and accompanying psychiatric conditions.
- Strong communication skills with both patients and interdisciplinary teams.
- Ability to manage and prioritize medical cases in a dynamic environment.
For MD/DO candidates:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) and completion of an emergency medicine or primary care residency.
- Board certification in emergency medicine or primary care.
- Experience with acute and chronic medical conditions, substance use disorders, and adolescents with co-occurring psychiatric disorders.
- 3-5 years of experience in primary care, emergency medicine, or addiction medicine required.
- RN degree or equivalent, Master's Degree in Nursing, and certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC), Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP-BC), or Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP-BC).
- Prescriptive authority by the Colorado Board of Nursing and DEA certification.
- Experience with acute and chronic medical conditions and substance use disorders in adolescents.
- 3-5 years of experience in primary care, emergency medicine, or addiction medicine required.

- MD/DO (0.5 FTE): \(105,900 to \)128,000 annually (\(101.83/hr to \)123.08/hr)
