Key Responsibilities
- Oversee legal issues including contract management, compliance with healthcare regulations, risk mitigation strategies, and accreditation standards (such as CARF).
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including procurement and healthcare-related agreements.
- Implement a Contract Lifecycle Management System (CLCMS) to enhance efficiency in contract processes.
- Collaborate with the finance team to incorporate budget considerations into contracts.
- Provide legal counsel on regulatory compliance, procurement, grants, and contract enforcement.
- Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations and CARF accreditation standards.
- Develop and maintain internal policies that reflect legal and regulatory requirements.
- Act as a strategic advisor to the leadership team, offering insights on legal and compliance matters.
- Foster a culture of compliance throughout the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to navigate complex legal matters.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for drafting contracts and providing legal counsel.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
- Keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy in legal and contractual activities.

- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active member of the New Mexico Bar in good standing.
- Minimum of 5 years of legal experience, particularly in healthcare, contracts, or compliance.
- Proven expertise in contract drafting, negotiation, and compliance oversight.
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations and CARF accreditation standards.
