Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate extensively with the EHR Program Director, PMO Manager, Application Manager, and fellow project managers to ensure seamless coordination of project initiatives.
- Assist in formulating business cases for approval by the Information Technology Board and Governance (ITGB).
- Facilitate communication between NCDHHS, the Office of the State CIO, and other pertinent stakeholders.
- Leverage your background in Health Information Technology (HIT) projects, particularly in clinical information systems and healthcare application interoperability.
- Deploy a comprehensive understanding of PMI project management standards, utilizing both Waterfall and Agile methodologies as necessary.
- Develop and maintain project plans in adherence to state and NCDHHS IT project management methodologies; proficiency in Microsoft Project and MS SharePoint is required.
- Manage project scope, timeline, and quality within your designated application areas.
- Ensure robust knowledge of IT project management, budgeting, quality assurance methodologies, and processes.
- Mentor and guide team members, providing clear direction on project challenges, success factors, and collective learning experiences.
- Establish clear expectations for team members and effectively organize resources.
- Identify and manage project risks and issues, implementing appropriate resolution and mitigation strategies.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including budgets and schedules.
- Act as the liaison among stakeholders, vendor personnel, and implementation teams.
- Maintain consistent communication with Epic and vendor representatives, actively participating in weekly project meetings.
- Collaborate with Epic, vendor staff, and end users to ensure that the system aligns with business requirements.
- Assist with training coordination and support end-user testing efforts.
- Engage in workflow design, system builds, testing, and technical analysis of vendor applications.
- Provide regular project status updates to leadership, spotlighting key milestones, budget considerations, and emerging issues.
- Prepare and present comprehensive reports for executive review, ensuring effective project status communication.
- Employ strong conflict resolution, problem-solving, and organizational skills to facilitate project success.
- 5 years of experience in Epic implementation or operational support.
- 5 years of involvement in Health Information Technology (HIT) projects, with an emphasis on clinical information systems and healthcare application interoperability.
- 5 years of experience in developing and sustaining project plans utilizing state and client IT project management methodologies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project and MS SharePoint.
- In-depth knowledge of PMI project management standards, with experience in both Waterfall and Agile methodologies being highly desirable.
