Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor 1 to 2 staff accountants
- Supervise the preparation, consolidation, and analysis of financial statements
- Conduct monthly account reconciliations with comprehensive analysis and justifications
- Ensure accuracy by posting and reviewing month-end journal entries
- Act as a resource for financial inquiries, delivering clear and prompt communication to stakeholders
- Develop and implement enhancements to financial processes and procedures
- Engage in year-end external financial statement audits
- Maintain and update the general ledger chart of accounts and reporting structures within the company's ERP
- Conduct thorough research and review to ensure proper elimination of intercompany transactions
- Manage ad-hoc projects as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Over 5 years of demonstrable experience in a similar accounting role
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience in an accounting context
- Exceptional attention to detail, coupled with strong organizational capabilities
- Advanced problem-solving and analytical proficiency
- Ability to produce accurate and timely results
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Strong business acumen and understanding of financial principles
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a collaborative team
- Experience in agriculture or manufacturing sectors is advantageous
- Familiarity with IBM Cognos TM1 or Microsoft Power BI is a plus
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required
- A minimum of 5 years of experience with GAAP, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, monthly account reconciliation, and supervisory responsibilities is necessary
- Experience with Cognos and Power BI is preferred but not essential
