Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive accounting support for daily, weekly, and monthly cash management.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and oversee daily bank activity reports across multiple accounts.
- Accurately process deposits, payments, and bank transfers, ensuring meticulous recordkeeping.
- Input bank activities into accounting software through journal entries, adhering to the correct general ledger accounts.
- Reconcile bank statements with internal records, ensuring accuracy in deposits, payments, and cleared checks.
- Maintain an accurate outstanding check register and reconcile payroll accounts for correctness.
- Supervise special events bank accounts, ensuring the accurate recording of fundraising activities.
- Collaborate with the Development Team to ensure compliance with GAAP standards regarding fundraising operations.
- Calculate and process external invoices for utility expenses in accordance with lease agreements.
- Assist in accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and internal reporting functions.
- Conduct thorough general ledger account analyses and ensure the proper maintenance of balance sheet accounts.
- Provide support during year-end audits and compliance reviews, along with other inquiries as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, complemented by 1-3 years of relevant experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and email applications (Outlook).
- Familiarity with accounting software (such as Blackbaud or equivalent) is essential.
- Strong grasp of GAAP principles as they pertain to balance sheet recordkeeping.
- Exceptional organizational abilities, communication skills, and keen attention to detail.
- Prior experience in nonprofit accounting is advantageous, though not mandatory.
