Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Chief Credit Officer (CCO) and leadership to establish corporate credit strategies and long-term planning.
- Evaluate financial and credit data to effectively assess loan applicants and make informed lending decisions.
- Supervise credit approvals and provide direction to Credit Supervisors and Underwriters in order to mitigate risk.
- Craft and refine credit policies to maintain a diversified and balanced loan portfolio.
- Work jointly with lenders to promote growth and profitability while ensuring independent credit evaluations.
- Manage distressed credit relationships to identify beneficial solutions for both borrowers and the institution.
- Direct collection activities and coordinate with legal representatives as necessary.
- Oversee bank-owned real estate (OREO), working with developers, realtors, and other stakeholders to facilitate transactions.
- Lead the loan committee, credit administration, and lending policies to ensure the integrity of the credit portfolio.
- MBA or degree in Finance, Banking, or a related discipline.
- Over 10 years of experience in lending and credit, particularly in commercial credit analysis.
- Proficiency in financial statement analysis, cash flow evaluation, and financial ratio assessment.
- Comprehensive understanding of banking practices, economics, risk assessment, and credit risk management.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills to navigate complex financial scenarios.
- An MBA or equivalent degree in Finance, Banking, or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of ten years’ experience in credit and lending with an emphasis on commercial credit analysis is essential.
