Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records for non-patient revenue, employee benefits, and non-salary expenses, including the preparation and submission of monthly journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements to confirm accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Assist in the budgeting process for special events and contributions, reviewing departmental non-salary expenditures.
• Audit accounts payable transactions pre-month-end to ensure accurate expense accruals during the closing processes.
• Manage positive pay uploads for check runs and provide comprehensive support for banking operations utilizing suitable financial systems and tools.
• Prepare and record entries associated with leases and utilities while maintaining quarterly future minimum rent expense schedules, coordinating with property management for necessary documentation.
• Document transactions meticulously to maintain accurate financial records and secure account information.
• Stay informed on federal, state, and local financial regulations to ensure compliance and advise management on necessary actions.
• Research and interpret accounting policies to respond to inquiries regarding financial procedures and guidelines.
• Support and mentor accounting clerical staff by coordinating daily activities and addressing inquiries.
  
  

Required Skills

• Extensive experience in the healthcare, hospitals, or social assistance sectors is preferred.
• Strong proficiency in account reconciliation and journal entry preparation.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for robust financial data analysis.
• Familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, and Workday is essential.
