Key Responsibilities
- Manage and accurately record non-patient revenue, employee benefits, and non-salary expenditures by preparing and submitting monthly journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and invoicing for non-patient receivables.
- Prepare and verify monthly financial statements to ensure precision and compliance.
- Assist in the development of budgets for special events and contributions, while reviewing departmental non-salary expenses.
- Conduct thorough reviews of accounts payable before month-end, ensuring accuracy and compliance during the close process.
- Oversee positive pay uploads for all check runs and support banking functions utilizing appropriate systems and tools.
- Prepare and post entries related to leases and utilities, maintaining a schedule for future minimum rent expense, and collaborate with the property management agency on necessary documentation.
- Record financial transactions by entering and securing account data.
- Stay updated on federal, state, and local financial regulations to ensure compliance, advising management on necessary actions.
- Address inquiries regarding accounting procedures by interpreting relevant policies and regulations, while coordinating with accounting clerical staff.
- Significant experience within the healthcare, hospital, or social assistance sectors.
- Demonstrated expertise in account reconciliation and journal entry preparation.
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite and Oracle, as well as knowledge of Workday software.
- Strong comprehension of sales tax regulations and experience with the preparation of sales tax returns.
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within healthcare or related fields.
