Key Responsibilities
- Drive transformation within client financial departments to align with their missions.
- Craft comprehensive financial reports for management and board decision-making.
- Recommend and implement enhancements to accounting operations, internal controls, and compliance procedures.
- Support client strategies and promote best practices in financial management.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
- Perform financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting, along with data visualization.
- Manage grant allocations and funder reporting to ensure financial accountability.
- Prepare for and oversee annual audits, ensuring all requirements are met.
- Provide training and support to clients and staff to enhance their capabilities.
- Strong commitment to supporting nonprofit organizations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and various GL packages, particularly QuickBooks.
- Familiarity with electronic bill payment systems is advantageous.
- Experience in nonprofit accounting, public accounting, and/or consulting is preferred but not mandatory.
- CPA certification is considered a plus.
- Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish) are an asset.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
- 5-7 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Experience in remote work environments is preferred.
- Proven ability to manage multiple clients effectively and work independently.
