Key Responsibilities
- Guarantee precise accounting for non-patient revenue, employee benefits, and non-salary expenses through journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and invoicing for non-patient receivables.
- Prepare and meticulously review monthly financial statements to ensure correctness.
- Assist in the budgeting process for special events, contributions, and various revenue streams.
- Validate accounts payable for correctness and support the month-end closing process with expense accruals.
- Oversee positive pay uploads for check runs and assist with banking transactions.
- Manage lease and utility entries, maintain quarterly rent expense schedules, and liaise with property management.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations, remaining current with changes in legislation.
- Research and interpret accounting policies and regulations to provide clarity on procedural inquiries.
- Offer support and mentorship to accounting clerical staff, providing guidance as required.
- Significant experience in the Healthcare, Hospitals, or Social Assistance industries is highly desirable.
- Strong expertise in account reconciliation and journal entry preparation.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are essential.
- Familiarity with systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, and Workday is an advantage.
- Comprehensive understanding of sales tax regulations and procedures, including the preparation and filing of sales tax returns.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably within the healthcare sector.
- Proven track record of success in roles requiring attention to detail and analytical prowess.
