Key Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate accounting for non-patient revenue, employee benefits, and non-salary expenses, including the preparation and submission of monthly journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and invoicing for non-patient receivables.
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements to guarantee accuracy and compliance.
- Assist in budget development for special events and contributions while actively participating in departmental expense reviews.
- Review accounts payable prior to month-end and ensure accurate expense accruals during the close process.
- Manage positive pay uploads for check runs and support banking functions utilizing appropriate systems and tools.
- Oversee lease and utilities accounting, maintain quarterly rent expense schedules, and collaborate with property management for necessary documentation.
- Document financial transactions and uphold secure account information.
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local financial regulations, staying informed of new legislation and advising management on necessary actions.
- Research and interpret accounting policies to address procedural inquiries.
- Support and guide accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and responding to queries.
- Previous experience in the healthcare, hospitals, or social assistance sectors is preferred.
- Strong competency in account reconciliation and journal entry preparation & analysis.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, and Workday.
- Comprehensive understanding of sales tax regulations and experience preparing sales tax returns.
