Key Responsibilities
- Support the month-end closing activities, ensuring adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal procedures.
- Prepare and evaluate monthly corporate financial reports, including the Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Statement of Cash Flows, General Ledger entries, and Statement of Equity.
- Conduct monthly bank reconciliations to guarantee the accuracy and integrity of financial documentation.
- Maintain compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) regulations and revenue recognition standards, particularly relevant in a publicly traded corporate environment.
- Oversee multi-state sales tax reporting and ensure compliance.
- Facilitate the annual financial audit by assembling required documentation and working closely with external auditors.
- Proactively identify and enforce best practices to enhance accounting functions and reduce errors.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or 1-3 years of pertinent accounting experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, highlighting strong technical capabilities.
- Experience with transitioning accounting software is advantageous (we are planning to migrate from Sage 300 to Sage Intacct soon).
- Quick adaptability to new systems and processes in a fast-paced environment is essential.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with acute attention to detail.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines, manage competing priorities, and maintain organization.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative team-oriented approach, with the ability to work effectively across departments.
