Key Responsibilities
- Manage a full spectrum of accounting functions, including preparation and maintenance of financial records, journal entries, and accounts payable.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and oversee the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
- Process vendor invoices and supervise payroll reporting and analysis.
- Adhere to accounting standards and ensure compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
- Generate accurate financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Engage in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Analyze financial statements to identify trends and areas for operational enhancement.
- Act as a mentor to junior accounting staff while leading collaborative initiatives across various departments.
- Collaborate with auditors to facilitate financial audits and assist in tax return preparation and compliance.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting requirements.
- Proficient in accounting/finance management systems, with experience in Sage Intacct and Bill.com being a plus.
- Excellent command of Excel and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Teams.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities with ease.
- Strong analytical abilities with a proactive approach toward problem-solving.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, fostering effective collaboration.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, preferably in veterinary, healthcare, or related industries.
- 2-5 years of leadership experience in a rapidly growing business environment.
- Familiarity with various legal entities and financial reporting structures is advantageous.
- CPA certification is a plus, though not mandatory.
