Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and meticulously review financial transactions to ensure accuracy, transparency, and compliance with accounting standards.
- Manage general accounting tasks, including the reconciliation of ledger accounts and the preparation of crucial financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, and capital expenditure schedules.
- Provide training and oversight for offshore personnel, ensuring high standards for journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Analyze financial transactions and generate reports to ascertain the completeness and accuracy of financial records.
- Monitor cash flow across owner portfolios to guarantee sufficient working capital.
- Act as the primary liaison for ownership entities, addressing financial inquiries and generating reports, including ad hoc analyses.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including asset management and treasury, to support financial planning and respond to ownership inquiries.
- Lead initiatives in data transformation, enhancing the accuracy and completeness of financial reporting while implementing necessary process improvements.
- Prepare for audits and assist in addressing auditor requests.
- Stay informed on industry regulations and required training to maintain compliance.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
- Profound knowledge of ownership structures, including partnerships, joint ventures, and REITs.
- Comprehensive understanding of financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Capability to translate financial data into actionable insights for stakeholders.
- Proven ability to identify process inefficiencies and implement improvements.
- Strong interpersonal skills for relationship-building with ownership entities and internal teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related discipline (CPA or CPA candidate preferred).
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in financial reporting or FP&A.
- In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience with ownership structures and financial reporting requirements is advantageous.
- Proficiency in managing large datasets and using financial software tools (e.g., MS Excel, SAS, PeopleSoft ERP).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced setting.
