Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Financial Manager, your core responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and analyzing program budgets, reports, and financial documentation.
- Identifying opportunities for enhancement in financial management processes and systems.
- Forecasting budgets, analyzing variances, and offering recommendations to program offices regarding financial performance.
- Utilizing automated management information systems to conduct thorough financial analysis and advisory functions.
- Assisting in the formulation and execution of financial plans, including obligations, expenditure tracking, and forecasting.
- Preparing financial documentation for key program reviews such as Budget Execution Reviews (BER), Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBR), and Milestone Decision Reviews (MDR).
- Monitoring funding status to ensure proper fund usage, including the preparation of funding documents like Purchase Requests (PRs), Military Interdepartmental Purchase Requests (MIPRs), and Program Objective Memoranda (POM).
- Maintaining precise financial records and providing detailed analyses of funding data to support both internal and external financial reporting.
- Ensuring seamless financial operations for a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook).
- Exceptional attention to detail and superior organizational skills.
- Strong communication and problem-solving capabilities.
To qualify for this role, candidates must have:
- A Master's or Doctorate Degree in a related field, accompanied by a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years within the Department of Defense (DoD).
- Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree combined with 12 years of relevant experience, including 5 years within the DoD, or 15 years of directly related experience with certifications and 8 years in the DoD.
- Experience with DoD financial systems, such as DEAMS, CCaRS, and CRIS, is highly desirable.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance is essential.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
