We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Senior Accounting Systems Specialist to drive the optimization and management of our Odessa Lease Management System. This remote position allows you to collaborate with accounting, finance, product management, and technology teams to enhance system performance while ensuring compliance with industry standards. Your expertise will play a crucial role in shaping the operational success of our organization in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure, manage, and enhance the Odessa Lease Management System to support key business functions across accounting and operations.
- Develop and uphold APIs, stored procedures, and software integrations with Salesforce and other enterprise platforms.
- Ensure adherence to GAAP, ASC 842, and other relevant regulatory standards during system modifications.
- Lead Agile Scrum ceremonies, participating actively in sprint planning and retrospectives.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement system enhancements through iterative development.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between Accounting, Product Management, Technology, and Back-Office Operations for Odessa-related initiatives.
- Work closely with Accounting Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather requirements and maintain compliance with lease accounting standards.
- Streamline processes related to lease payment schedules and contract modifications within Odessa.
- Collaborate with Product Managers to prioritize system improvements aligned with business goals.
- Design and implement systemic controls to ensure data accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Lead quality assurance testing for new functionalities and updates to the system.
- Provide training and support to teams on Odessa’s functionalities.
- Act as the Odessa system expert, addressing issues and ensuring optimal system performance.
- Shadow the SVP of Finance to gain in-depth knowledge of the Odessa system, paving the way for a transition into the Technology department as a Subject Matter Expert (SME).
- Over 5 years of accounting experience with a solid grasp of GAAP, general ledger, and reconciliation processes.
- 3 years of experience in ERP system implementation and management, preferably with Odessa.
- Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or relevant experience in auditing firms specializing in accounting frameworks.
- Strong technical skills in API development, SQL, and system configuration.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Office Suite tools (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive).
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience in process mapping and documentation.
- Proven capability to manage cross-functional teams and lead system implementation projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field is required.
- CPA or equivalent accounting certification is preferred.
