Key Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted consultant to clients, thoroughly understanding their specific business requirements and offering expert financial advice.
- Direct scalable accounting operations, ensuring strict adherence to established internal control frameworks, policies, and procedures.
- Formulate and uphold comprehensive accounting policies and procedures tailored to client needs.
- Identify and implement financial tools that enhance reporting efficiency and clarity.
- Oversee the creation and monitoring of client budgets, forecasts, and cash flow management.
- Supervise month-end closing activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reports.
- Analyze financial data to deliver actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
- Lead client conference calls, focusing on strategy discussions, future requirements, and operational adaptations.
- Assist with tax preparation and coordinate external audits.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local government reporting obligations.
- 10-15 years of progressive accounting experience, including a minimum of 5 years in public accounting and 5 years in private industry.
- Proven capability to manage and mentor a team while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Experience collaborating with small to medium-sized firms, especially in the government contracting domain, with a robust understanding of FAR, CAS, and DCAA regulations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a technical focus, coupled with hands-on accounting experience.
- Exceptional communication abilities and the aptitude to make swift, informed decisions in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software, including QuickBooks and ICAT, along with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook and Excel).
- Flexibility to adapt to various client environments and willingness to travel as necessary.
- CPA designation is preferred.
- Several years of experience in client-facing outsourced accounting roles.
- At least 5 years of supervisory experience.
- Extensive knowledge of federal contracts, full accrual accounting, and regulations governing government contracting.
