Job Overview

We are looking for a diligent Non-QM Scenario Desk Underwriter to become a vital member of our Production Support team. In this capacity, you will deliver exceptional service to TPO, NDC, and Retail Loan Officers, Account Executives, and Brokers. Your underwriting expertise will play a crucial role in providing innovative solutions and outstanding service to our partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Address inquiries related to Non-QM program guidelines, requirements, and loan scenarios via email, online platforms, and phone communication.
• Process Bank Statement Analysis requests efficiently for sales partners across Wholesale, NDC, and Retail divisions, ensuring prompt turnaround.
• Articulate analysis results clearly to all stakeholders, while adhering to departmental standards.
• Facilitate the delivery and completion of Bank Statement Analyses in collaboration with Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) partners.
• Execute Quality Control testing on Bank Statement Analysis work performed by BPO partners.
• Exhibit strong underwriting knowledge to effectively document and remove loan conditions.
• Evaluate complex personal and business tax returns to ascertain qualifying monthly income.
• Support sales partners in structuring intricate loan scenarios.
• Remain updated on mortgage loan origination practices, loan programs, and regulatory standards.
• Maintain proficiency with the TPO and NDC Portal to assist production partners with document submissions and access issues.
• Organize and maintain documentation for completed Bank Statement Analyses and Scenario Grades.
• Collaborate daily with the Mortgage Sales Team and Operations staff (both Retail and TPO).
• Review condominium projects to assess eligibility based on program criteria.
• Carry out other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Recommended experience in Mortgage Wholesale/Non-QM Underwriting.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
• Proficiency with Encompass Software is a requirement.
• Minimum of 5 years of Underwriting experience (either UW or secondary).
