Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting operations using QuickBooks for various development entities and related projects.
- Execute month-end responsibilities, including bank reconciliations, general ledger closings, financial statement preparation, and quarterly reporting across multiple entities.
- Prepare and reconcile monthly construction draw requests, funding disbursements, and outstanding invoices.
- Formulate and document journal entries for accrued expenses and revenues.
- Act as a liaison for vendors, investors, and lenders, resolving discrepancies and addressing financial inquiries.
- Compile necessary documentation for audits, cost certifications, and tax filings.
- Assist with year-end audits and tax return processes for multiple entities.
- Review ownership agreements with a focus on cash flow waterfall preparations.
- Address special requests for internal and external financial information.
- Evaluate operational accounting and reporting provided by third-party management firms.
- Support various special projects and fulfill ad-hoc reporting requirements as needed.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency in accounting software, particularly QuickBooks.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask effectively, and complete activities efficiently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- A proactive self-starter with a customer-focused mindset.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with both remote and in-office teams.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience is preferred.
- Experience in real estate development, affordable housing, and/or monthly draw preparation is advantageous.
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks and Bill.com is preferred.
