Job Overview

As the Manager of Tax - Pillar 2 / Canadian Direct Tax, you will occupy a pivotal position overseeing tax policies and compliance spanning multiple tax jurisdictions. This role provides an exceptional opportunity to lead a dedicated team while ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local tax legislation. Your leadership will be crucial in managing a global tax initiative with an emphasis on Canadian operations and Pillar II processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and supervise direct tax operations for Canadian entities, ensuring compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
  • Oversee the global Pillar II tax processes, which include financial statement provisions, compliance, and effective communication with offshore tax offices.
  • Remain vigilant regarding legislative changes and tax developments, proactively addressing potential tax challenges, while keeping the team and management apprised.
  • Provide leadership by selecting, nurturing, and inspiring a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, safety, and high morale.
  • Manage departmental budgets and adeptly respond to challenges in tax compliance processes.
  • Efficiently coordinate and handle tax audits.
  • Undertake additional duties as necessary to support the overall objectives of the tax department.

Required Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of business and service operations, particularly within large-scale environments.
  • Outstanding management, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in analyzing and adapting to changes in tax legislation, along with experience in global tax initiatives.
  • Strong research, project management, and communication capabilities.
  • Experience with Canadian Income Tax, Direct Tax, global minimum tax, international income tax, transfer pricing, and tax return reviews is highly preferred.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or a related discipline is required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in a tax or financial capacity is essential.

Compensation And Benefits

  • Salary Range: \(9,208.38 - \)16,575.08 per month.
