Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with both the Tax and Wealth Advisory teams to fulfill clients’ comprehensive financial requirements through outstanding tax services.
- Prepare and review federal and state tax returns, including gift tax and trust returns, with an emphasis on multi-state tax regulations.
- Assist clients in tax planning by generating projections and providing guidance on diverse tax-related issues such as stock-based compensation and self-employment income.
- Evaluate the necessity for quarterly estimated tax payments and ensure accurate and timely processing.
- Facilitate client responses to tax notices, audits, and other inquiries by liaising with the IRS and state Departments of Revenue.
- Aid clients with US international tax reporting, including compliance with forms FinCEN 114, 8938, and 1116 for those with foreign income or assets.
- Analyze tax withholding and wage conditions to support clients' desired tax outcomes.
- Offer year-round consulting on tax matters and conduct research on relevant topics to address clients’ concerns.
- Continuously assess and propose enhancements for tax-related software and processes to improve team efficiency and client experience.
- Identify and implement process improvements within the Tax team to elevate operational effectiveness and enhance the client journey.

Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
- Active CPA or EA certification is strongly preferred; candidates must meet educational criteria to secure certification in their state if not currently certified.
- 1-4 years of pertinent tax experience, particularly in return preparation and compliance for high-net-worth clients.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey intricate tax concepts clearly.
- Familiarity with tax topics pertinent to our specialized clientele.
- A comprehensive understanding of tax planning within the broader framework of a client’s financial objectives.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring meticulous task management.
- Demonstrated reliability in executing tasks and projects with integrity.
- Proficiency in technology with a willingness to explore new tools aimed at process improvement; experience with relevant software (e.g., CCH Axcess, BNA Income Tax Planner) is advantageous.
