Key Responsibilities
- Manage Tax Reporting: Spearhead the 1099⁄1042 tax reporting process, ensuring precise preparation, filing, and reconciliation. Address provider inquiries, manage B-Notice requirements, and collaborate with internal teams to rectify discrepancies in business names, addresses, and tax IDs.
- Oversee Sales & Use Tax Compliance: Administer corporate tax provisions, manage estimated tax payments, execute journal entries, and perform account reconciliations while investigating any discrepancies.
- Maintain Vendor Records: Oversee the vendor master database, ensuring compliance and accuracy. Approve the establishment of new vendors and supervise updates as necessary.
- Analyze & Report Financial Data: Utilize Excel to track key performance metrics and generate reports that provide insights into tax reporting and vendor management.
- Lead Cross-Functional Projects: Develop comprehensive work plans, allocate necessary resources, assess potential risks, and ensure timely execution of projects related to tax and vendor functions.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable or a related financial discipline.
- Strong familiarity with 1099⁄1042 tax reporting and compliance procedures.
- Demonstrated experience with sales and use tax filings, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Proficiency in Excel for data analysis, financial reporting, and tracking key performance metrics.
- Proven ability to lead projects and collaborate effectively across departments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking capabilities.
- Experience in managing vendor databases and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Willingness to work flexible hours during peak tax reporting seasons.
- Associate’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
