Key Responsibilities
As the Medical Director, you will be instrumental in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by offering expert medical advice and support to skilled nursing facilities. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Consulting with residents in accordance with applicable policies and regulations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
- Advising the Facility Administrator on service scope, care programs, medical equipment, and staffing requirements.
- Supporting the development of resident care programs and enhancements.
- Being available for emergency consultations 24⁄7.
- Attending monthly Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) meetings for a minimum of 10 months annually.
- Collaborating with the team to design clinical pathways to enhance resident care.
- Assisting the facility with marketing and outreach as required.
- Working alongside attending physicians to ensure optimal care for residents.
- Board certification as a physician with experience in long-term care or post-acute settings is preferred.
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulations and the ability to navigate complex clinical environments.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, committed to patient-centered care.
- Capability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Board certification in a relevant medical field is required.
- Proven experience in providing medical guidance within skilled nursing facilities is desirable.
