Key Responsibilities
- Establish a safe, welcoming, and hygienic atmosphere for clients and their families.
- Conduct trauma-informed assessments to gather insights into each client’s distinct needs.
- Offer short-term therapy for individuals, couples, families, and groups addressing mental health and substance use issues across various age groups.
- Maintain an appropriate caseload while being receptive to triage and walk-in appointments.
- Complete billable services within 24 hours and utilize collaborative documentation effectively.
- Coordinate care across both health and behavioral health services to promote holistic wellness.
- Facilitate client referrals and connect them with care coordination, recovery services, and peer support as necessary.
- Assist in care transitions by developing aftercare plans in collaboration with clients and families.
- Provide crisis management services and work in conjunction with emergency services when required.
- Act as a community educator by disseminating vital mental health information.
- Implement evidence-based interventions, such as motivational interviewing, to design person-centered treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with agency requirements, funding sources, and accrediting bodies.
- Participate in all mandatory supervision and training sessions.
- Regularly update your schedule to facilitate centralized scheduling.
- Maintain CANS certification and, if licensed, fulfill continuing education requirements to sustain your license.
- Master’s degree in mental health counseling, psychology, social work, or a related accredited field.
- Licensure or license eligibility (LICSW, LMHC, LMFT, LADC-I).
- Proficiency in computer systems and Electronic Health Record (EHR) management.
- Demonstrated cultural competency, including:
- Awareness of personal beliefs, biases, and assumptions.
- Understanding of diverse backgrounds including gender, race, and ethnicity.
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively across cultures.
