Key Responsibilities
- Review, authorize, and process applications in compliance with underwriting guidelines to meet our premium and profitability targets.
- Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of our commercial insurance products, pricing structures, and coverage options, applying your understanding of authority levels and resources.
- Cultivate and sustain robust relationships with agency partners through effective communication, including regular in-person interactions.
- Serve as a mentor and resource for team members, providing guidance and training to support their professional aspirations.
- Utilize company systems efficiently while focusing on your personal development and effective communication to contribute to overarching corporate objectives.
- Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills, with an ability to self-manage and work autonomously.
- Proven ability to establish and nurture strong partnerships with agency affiliates.
- In-depth knowledge of commercial insurance products, pricing, and coverages.
- A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience in a relevant field.
- A minimum of 5-8 years of demonstrated success in Commercial Lines Underwriting, including experience in building and developing new agency relationships.
- Relevant designations such as Associate in Underwriting (AU), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), or similar are required.
- Valid driver’s license and compliance with company fleet safety regulations.
