- Evaluate, authorize, and manage commercial insurance applications, ensuring compliance with our underwriting standards.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of our commercial insurance products, pricing methodologies, and coverage specifics, enabling you to make informed underwriting decisions.
- Foster strong relationships with agency partners through regular visits and effective communication, driving collaborative success.
- Share your knowledge and mentorship with team members, enhancing their professional growth and the overall success of the underwriting department.
- Leverage your technical expertise and familiarity with systems to efficiently manage your workload and support company-wide goals.
- A Bachelor's degree, formal insurance training, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5-8 years of substantive experience in commercial lines underwriting, with a focus on cultivating new agency partnerships.
- Relevant professional designations, such as Associate in Underwriting (AU) or Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU).
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage effectively with agents and colleagues.
- Excellent organizational skills, independence in work, and a proactive problem-solving attitude.
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
- Proven track record in establishing and nurturing agency relationships is essential.
- Willingness to travel regularly within your designated territory in Northeastern Ohio, including occasional overnight stays.
