Job Overview

We are seeking an accomplished Director of Business Development to lead our initiatives in the NY Metro Region, encompassing New York City, Long Island, the Mid-Hudson Valley, and New Jersey. This pivotal role reports directly to the Managing Director and is integral to fostering new small business opportunities while cultivating a robust network of referral partners. As a leader of a dedicated team of business advisors, you will be responsible for enhancing our small business lending pipeline and ensuring exceptional relationship management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee the Business Advisory teams in managing client relationships and sustaining productive partnership connections.
  • Collaborate with Team Leaders to forge new alliances and nurture existing partnerships.
  • Mentor Business Advisors in cultivating and maintaining small business relationships effectively.
  • Allocate small business referrals among team leaders and guide the follow-up process.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and alignment with the organizational mission and strategic objectives.
  • Conduct regular training and call reviews with each team to enhance performance.
  • Inspire and coach the teams to attract and retain a diverse pool of Business Advisors.
  • Recognize and reward outstanding team performance in accordance with company values.
  • Liaise with cross-functional departments to facilitate the seamless execution of organizational initiatives.
  • Identify and address emerging community needs through relevant program development.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.
  • In-depth experience in small business counseling and/or lending.
  • Exceptional client management and customer service skills.
  • Proficient in Salesforce, Google applications, and Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word and Excel).
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and one of the following languages is preferred: Chinese, Korean, or Spanish.
  • Strong analytical, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Capacity to manage sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in small business counseling and/or lending, including managing a team of 10 or more.
  • A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of local businesses and resources within the NY Metro Area.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, multitask, and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with the challenges faced by low-income individuals in diverse communities is advantageous.

Compensation And Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of \(90,000 to \)110,000, commensurate with experience, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package. Additionally, there are opportunities for performance-based annual bonuses and recognition of your professional growth.
