Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and implement the US patient advocacy strategy, ensuring cohesion with regional and global medical objectives.
- Participate as a key member of the US Medical Leadership Team, contributing to strategic planning and organizational decision-making.
- Collaborate with various internal teams, including Medical Affairs, Commercial, Market Access, and Public Affairs, to ensure a harmonized approach to patient advocacy initiatives.
- Establish strategic collaborations with both internal and external stakeholders to enhance patient care and engagement.
- Incorporate patient feedback and engagement into regulatory and market access submissions to uphold a patient-centric ethos.
- Nurture relationships with national, regional, and local patient advocacy groups, identifying and addressing unmet patient needs through tailored programs and initiatives.
- Represent the organization at patient advocacy events, bolstering external relationships and enhancing disease awareness.
- Develop educational materials and advocacy resources in collaboration with internal and external partners, monitoring the effectiveness of these initiatives.
- Ensure all activities adhere to regulatory, legal, and ethical standards, serving as a trusted advisor on patient advocacy compliance matters.
- Exceptional relationship-building abilities with a strong capacity to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- In-depth understanding of the patient advocacy landscape, particularly in relation to rare diseases.
- Strategic outlook with a knack for translating complex strategies into actionable initiatives.
- Proven competence in managing budgets within compliance frameworks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, alongside strong organizational capabilities.
- Advanced degree in life sciences, public health, or a related field preferred (PhD, PharmD, MD, or MBA is advantageous).
- Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time.
