Key Responsibilities
- Engage in national travel (up to 75%) to assess and evaluate a variety of healthcare settings, including long-term care facilities, ambulatory surgical centers, and hospitals.
- Conduct comprehensive on-site surveys, which include observing care practices, reviewing patient records, and interviewing staff and families.
- Evaluate compliance with federal regulations to uphold patient rights, safety standards, and the overall quality of care.
- Identify areas needing improvement, relay findings to facility personnel, and foster a culture of continuous enhancement.
- Assess correction plans and perform follow-up visits to ensure implementation of necessary changes.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of training programs for facilities and fellow colleagues, sharing valuable insights and best practices.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- Successful completion of CMS’s Long-Term Care Basic Training and Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test (SMQT).
- A minimum of two years of recent experience in surveying, accrediting, or certifying long-term care facilities.
- Active and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Strong independent decision-making skills and the capability to efficiently manage the survey process.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage in constructive discussions on sensitive matters.
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Willingness and capability to travel extensively.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.

- Competitive salary range: \(75,000 - \)90,000 per year.
- Full-time, Monday to Friday role with a predictable work schedule.
